Why it matters and how to use it: free tools, attorney review and the Marketplace's limits, open records, sponsoring, and applying for funding. Captions are on. Pick a chapter to jump to it.
Free tools, first
No account or payment needed for any of these. Legal aid offices and libraries are welcome to send people straight here.
⚖️ Attorney review
A licensed attorney reviews Kasecraft's own legal guides and starter templates before they're published. The review checks that our content is accurate and easy to follow. It does not make Kasecraft a law firm, and it does not create an attorney-client relationship with anyone who uses the site.
What the Marketplace is, and isn't
- Kasecraft is not a law firm, and nothing on the site is legal advice. Using the site does not create an attorney-client relationship.
- Templates in the Marketplace are written and shared by members from their own cases. Unless a seller says they're an attorney, a lawyer did not write them, and they are not attorney-reviewed.
- A document that worked in one court may not fit yours. Forms, deadlines, and rules differ by state and court. Always check your court's local rules and self-help center.
- Sellers set their own prices, from free to $200. Buyer reviews help, but no one can promise a result in your case.
- Peer sessions, workshops, and student gigs are peer support from people who have been through court or are learning. They are not legal representation.

Kasecraftportal.com (https://kasecraftportal.com/partners): free court-preparation tools for people representing themselves, including court-formatted templates, a deadline calculator, hearing preparation tools, and a private sensitive-information check. Run by the Kasecraft Foundation (501(c)(3) status pending). Not a law firm; not legal advice.
🎓 Pilot programs for law school clinics, legal aid and courts
Run a free, 90-day pilot of AEDDA, our self-help records-subpoena tool, with the people you serve. You get a pilot code that sponsors their requests and a private page of anonymized, live results; participants use AEDDA on their own, so no supervision or representation is required.
Open records: every dollar in and out
Sponsorship gifts fund grants to community justice networks. We record every gift and every grant here, as they happen.
No grants have been made yet. The first ones will be listed here with the date, the organization, and the amount.
Totals show gifts before card processing fees. When our 501(c)(3) status is approved, we'll also post our annual IRS filings here.
Sponsor the Foundation
Your gift helps fund legal aid offices, court self-help programs, and community justice networks serving people who can't afford a lawyer. Businesses and individuals are welcome.
The Kasecraft Foundation has applied to the IRS for recognition as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization. The application is pending. Until the IRS approves it, we can't promise that gifts are tax-deductible; please ask your tax adviser. We'll update this page as soon as the IRS decides.
Apply for sponsorship or a grant
Community justice organizations serving underserved communities can apply here: legal aid offices, court self-help centers, law school clinics, libraries, reentry and advocacy groups, and other nonprofits. We review applications as funds become available, and every grant we make is listed in the open records above.
