Kasecraftportal.com is a self-help marketplace and software platform. It is not a law firm, and nothing here is legal advice.
Members are not attorneys unless they say so, and using the site never creates an attorney–client relationship.
Everything shared publicly must be fully redacted. No names, addresses, case numbers, Social Security numbers, account numbers, or health details.
HIPAA does not protect health information you put on this site, so keep it out of anything public.
Your vault, binders, and evidence documents are private to your account. We do not sell personal information.
Misusing the site or anyone's personal information gets you banned and reported, and you agree to hold Kasecraftportal.com harmless for how you use it.
1. Not a law firm, not legal advice
Kasecraftportal.com is a marketplace and set of software tools for people who represent themselves in court. We are not a law firm or a lawyer referral service, and we do not give legal advice or represent anyone.
Templates are general, redacted examples shared by members. They may not fit your facts, your court, or the current law.
Tools such as Kasecrafter, the Drafting Studio, and the Automated Trial Binder format and organize the information you enter. They do not review your case or check whether a document is legally sufficient.
Sessions and workshops are peer discussions for sharing experience and resources. They are not legal services.
No attorney–client relationship is created by buying a template, booking a session, sending a message, or using any tool, even if the other member is a licensed attorney.
You are responsible for what you file, for meeting deadlines, and for following your court's rules. For advice about your situation, contact a licensed attorney, your local legal aid office, or your court's self-help center.
2. Unauthorized practice of law
Every state limits the practice of law to licensed attorneys. Practicing law without a license (often called UPL) can be a crime or lead to civil penalties, and what counts as UPL differs from state to state.
Members may: share their own redacted filings as templates, describe their own experience, point people to court rules, forms, and self-help resources, and offer general information about how court procedures work.
Members may not, on or through this site:
Give legal advice about another person's specific case, or tell someone which claims, defenses, or strategy to use.
Choose forms for someone, or draft or fill in documents for someone else's case, unless their state allows them to do that.
Represent anyone in court, negotiate for them, or appear on their behalf.
Say or suggest they are an attorney unless they are licensed and in good standing. Attorneys who take part are responsible for following their own professional conduct rules.
Promise or guarantee a result.
Some states regulate paid document preparation. For example, California requires legal document assistants to register, and Arizona certifies legal document preparers. Members who offer document preparation must follow the rules where they and their customers are located.
Titles and descriptions that offer legal advice, representation, or court appearances are blocked, and we remove listings and sessions that cross these lines.
3. Redaction standard
Anything you share publicly (templates, listings, notices, workshops, and session descriptions) must be fully redacted before you submit it. We review templates before they go live, but the person sharing is responsible for removing personal information.
Remove, and replace with a bracketed blank such as [PLAINTIFF NAME]:
Names of parties, witnesses, and children
Street addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses
Docket, case, and claim numbers
Dates of birth
Social Security and taxpayer ID numbers
Driver's license and vehicle plate numbers
Bank, credit card, and other account numbers
Insurance policy numbers
Medical, mental health, and other health information
Military status
Signatures
Anything else that could identify a person
When you file with a court, follow its privacy rules. In federal civil cases, Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 5.2(a) allows only the last four digits of a Social Security or taxpayer ID number, the year of birth, a minor's initials, and the last four digits of a financial account number. Bankruptcy and criminal cases have matching rules (Fed. R. Bankr. P. 9037 and Fed. R. Crim. P. 49.1). In New Jersey, Court Rule 1:38-7 bars confidential personal identifiers, including Social Security, driver's license, vehicle plate, insurance policy, active financial account, and active credit card numbers, and information about military status, and requires filers to certify that they have been redacted. Other states have similar rules. Check yours.
Never share documents from sealed cases, or records that are confidential by law or court order. Depending on your state, that can include juvenile, adoption, some family, mental health commitment, and domestic violence records, and anything covered by a protective order.
The Sensitive-information check in the Drafting Studio can help you find numbers to hide, but it can miss things. Read every page yourself before you share it.
4. Health information and HIPAA
The HIPAA Privacy Rule applies to “covered entities” (health plans, health care clearinghouses, and health care providers that conduct certain electronic transactions) and their business associates. Kasecraftportal.com is not a covered entity or a business associate, so HIPAA generally does not apply to information you choose to put on this site.
Keep health information out of templates, listings, notices, workshops, session descriptions, and messages.
Medical records you need as evidence belong only in your private vault, binders, or evidence documents.
Upload another person's medical records only if you have the legal right to use them.
Many courts require medical records to be redacted or filed under seal. Check your court's rules before filing a binder that includes them.
Session hosts must not ask participants for health information.
5. Confidentiality
Conversations on this site, including messages, notices, workshops, and sessions, are not privileged the way conversations with your own lawyer are. What you say to another member could be repeated, and in some cases the other side in your lawsuit could ask for it in discovery.
Don't share anything about your case in a message or session that you wouldn't want the other side to see.
Don't record a session without every participant's permission. Many states require everyone's consent to record a conversation.
Follow any protective order or confidentiality order in your case.
Respect other members' privacy. Don't share what they tell you in a session or message outside the site.
Files in your vault, trial binders, and evidence documents are stored privately and can be opened only by your account, through links that expire within minutes. Site administrators access stored data only when needed to run, secure, or support the site, or when required by law.
6. Privacy and the Privacy Act
The federal Privacy Act of 1974 governs records kept by federal agencies. Kasecraftportal.com is a private website, not a government agency, so the Privacy Act does not apply to it. We still follow these practices:
What we collect: your account details (name, email, username, and state), what you post, files you upload, messages you send, purchase and payout records, and basic activity such as when you were last online.
Cards and payments: Stripe processes all payments. We never see or store your full card number.
How we use it: to run the site, process payments and seller payouts, prevent fraud and abuse, and meet legal requirements.
Who helps us run the site: Stripe (payments), Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting), and Anthropic (the Site help assistant and the notice summarizer, which process only the text you send them).
We do not sell personal information.
What others can see: your username and anything you post publicly. Your vault, binders, evidence documents, purchases, and session bank are private.
Security: the site uses encrypted connections, and private files are served only through short-lived links. No system is perfectly secure.
Legal requests: we may disclose information when the law requires it, such as in response to a valid subpoena or court order.
Your choices: you can ask to see, correct, or delete your information through the Contact page. Some state laws, such as California's, give residents specific rights over their data. We keep payment records as long as tax and accounting laws require.
Adults only: the site is for people 18 and older.
Conduct: no legal training or professional background is required to take part in sessions, workshops, or Moot Court. Every member must be civil, respectful, and honest.
Moot Court streams, recordings, certificates, and transcripts
Moot Court fees: Moot Court is free for members. Non-members pay $5.00 per hour for each session they take part in; each hour or part of an hour past the first, including extensions, is billed at another $5.00. Once a session is started, its clock runs for the full scheduled time and cannot be stopped or paused.
Consent first: an organizer may stream or post a recording of a moot court session only after every participant has agreed to be shown publicly. Anyone may withdraw from a session before it starts. Organizers can turn public viewing or sharing off at any time.
No real case information: sessions use made-up facts. Never discuss real cases, real people, or personal, financial, or health information in a streamed or recorded session.
Removal requests: a participant who no longer wants to appear in a public recording can ask the organizer or contact us, and we will take it down.
Certificates and transcripts: they record practical hours earned in practice sessions. They are not a law license, a degree, or proof of legal skill. Kasecraftportal.com is not an accredited institution; any academic credit is decided by each school or program. Issued sets cannot be edited. Altering a certificate or transcript, or presenting a fake one, is prohibited and may be reported.
Cookies and tracking
Essential cookies only: we use cookies to keep you signed in (set by our database provider, Supabase) and to complete payments (set by Stripe on its checkout page). The site cannot work without them, so they do not require consent.
No advertising or tracking: we do not use advertising cookies, analytics trackers, tracking pixels, or social media trackers, and we do not load fonts or scripts from ad networks. Fonts are served from our own site.
Browser storage: your browser may remember small settings, such as that you closed the cookie notice. This stays on your device.
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA) and other state privacy laws
This section explains how we handle personal information under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, and similar state laws. We extend these rights to all members, wherever they live.
Categories we collect (last 12 months): identifiers (name, email, username); commercial information (purchases, sessions, certificates); internet activity on this site (pages used, last online time); content you post or upload; and approximate location only as the state you choose in your profile.
Sources: you, and our service providers when you pay (Stripe).
Purposes: running the site, processing payments and payouts, security and fraud prevention, customer support, and legal compliance.
No sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information and do not "share" it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and have not done so in the past 12 months. We do not knowingly sell or share information of anyone under 16.
Sensitive information: we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you.
Global Privacy Control: we honor the GPC browser signal as a request to opt out of sale and sharing. Because we never sell or share, the opt-out already applies to everyone. Your Privacy Choices
Your rights: to know what we collect, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, to opt out of sale or sharing, to limit use of sensitive information, and not to be treated differently for using these rights.
How to make a request: use the Contact page (topic "Privacy or data request") while signed in, or from the email on your account. We verify requests by matching your account email, respond within 45 days, and may extend once by 45 more days if we tell you why. An authorized agent may submit a request with your signed permission.
Retention: account data is kept while your account is open; payment and tax records as long as the law requires; deleted certificates and files are removed from storage when you delete them.
Kasecrafter Dollars (K$) terms
What they are: Kasecrafter Dollars are a promotional site credit. Each K$1.00 is worth $1.00 toward eligible purchases on Kasecraftportal.com: memberships, certificates and transcripts, Moot Court time, Kasecrafter documents, public notices, and templates sold by Kasecraftportal.com. They can't be used for templates or sessions sold by other members.
Not money: they are not legal tender, have no cash value, and are not refundable or exchangeable for cash, except where a state law requires a cash refund of a purchased gift balance. They are not bank deposits, securities, or a payment service, and they earn no interest.
Never expire, transferable: balances and notes do not expire. Members may send K$ to other members and give printed notes to anyone. A note is redeemed once, by whoever enters its code first, so keep the code private until you give it.
Earning: members earn K$ for new, human, signed-out visitors who arrive through their share link (once per visitor per day, with daily limits), for free accounts created through their link, and when a referred person becomes a paying member. Rates and limits are shown on the Kasecrafter Dollars page and may change for future earnings.
Welcome credit: a new account may receive a one-time welcome credit (K$10 with code WELCOME10; notes printed with WELCOME20 are honored at K$20) by entering the welcome code from our promotional materials, at sign-up or within 30 days of creating the account. Limit one per person; duplicate or fake accounts are not eligible, limits apply per connection and per day, and the offer may end at any time without affecting credits already given.
No gaming the system: clicking your own link, using bots, paid-to-click traffic, spam, misleading posts, or fake accounts is prohibited. We may remove credits earned that way, void notes involved in fraud, and suspend or close accounts. Share honestly and don't describe the site as legal advice.
Lost or stolen notes: treat notes like cash gift cards. We can't replace a note that someone else has redeemed.
Changes or closing: if the program ever ends, we will give at least 60 days' notice so members can use their balances.
7. Payments, memberships, and refunds
Sellers and session hosts are independent members, not employees or agents of Kasecraftportal.com. They are responsible for what they offer and receive 70% of each sale.
Memberships ($9.99 per month or $79.99 per year) and the Trial Binder plan ($14.99 per month) renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel now on your Account page ends the plan immediately. The current period is not refunded.
Session seats can be cancelled for a full refund up to 24 hours before the start. After that, you can transfer or gift the seat. If a host cancels, every seat is refunded.
Templates are instant downloads, so sales are final unless the file is defective or not as described. Contact us within 14 days if that happens.
AEDDA records subpoenas
AEDDA (the Authenticating and Expedited Document Delivery App) is a self-help tool. Users prepare, issue, serve and manage their own records subpoenas; AEDDA provides court-rule summaries, forms and a secure exchange with the record-keeper, not legal advice. Users are responsible for following the current rules of their court, including issuance, service and notice to every party.
Records and documents are stored privately. Produced records are released to the requester only when the court's rules allow (for example, not before a New Jersey records deposition date, or while a motion to quash is reported pending).
Audit trail. Each step is recorded with its time, and with the IP address and browser of the person acting, so either side can show what happened. SHA-256 fingerprints are recorded for every uploaded file.
Record-keepers respond through a unique link stored as a secure hash, and agree to respond and sign electronically before doing so (15 U.S.C. § 7001).
Payments. Requests are paid one at a time, unless sponsored by a pilot program. A request is charged once; if a payment page fails to return, AEDDA finds the earlier payment instead of charging again.
Pilot programs (schools, legal aid, courts, libraries)
Partner organizations may run pilot programs that sponsor AEDDA requests for the people they refer. When you send a request with a pilot code:
The request is free to you, up to the pilot's limit and dates. Using a code does not create an attorney-client relationship with the partner or with Kasecraftportal.com, and the partner is not responsible for your case.
The partner sees only anonymized, combined results (counts, averages, outcome categories and optional feedback ratings). Your name, contact details, case information, messages, documents and records are not shared with the partner through AEDDA.
Feedback you give when a request ends is optional. Please leave names and case details out of comments.
If a partner institution wants to use pilot results in research involving human subjects, its own review process applies, and any additional consent will be asked for separately; you can say no without losing access.
Pilot codes may be paused or ended, and requests already sent are not affected.
Share only what you have the right to share. A filing you wrote yourself is generally yours to share once it is redacted. Do not upload forms or documents copied from paid form services, books, or other people's work without permission. To report copyright infringement, use the Contact page and include a link to the listing and a description of your work.
9. Reporting and removal
If you see personal information, legal advice being offered, or anything else that breaks these rules, use the Report button on the item or contact us. We may remove content, cancel sessions (with refunds), and suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
10. Hold harmless and prohibited uses
Nothing on this website is legal advice or legal representation. Neither Kasecraftportal.com nor any of its features, functions, tools, designs, templates, sessions, workshops, notices, messages, or other content may be understood or relied on as legal advice, as legal representation, or as creating an attorney–client relationship.
Nothing on this website authorizes anyone to collect, use, share, or publish personal information or data in any way that is not allowed by law. You are solely responsible for making sure that everything you upload, share, file, or do with information from this site follows all federal, state, and local laws, court rules, and court orders.
Hold harmless. By using this website, you agree to hold harmless, defend, and indemnify Kasecraftportal.com and its owners, operators, administrators, and service providers from any claims, losses, damages, penalties, costs, and legal fees that come from:
your use of the website, its tools, or its content, including any document you file or decision you make in a legal matter;
anything you upload, post, sell, or share, including any failure to redact personal information;
any session, workshop, service, or communication between you and another member; or
your violation of these policies, another person's rights, or any law, court rule, or court order.
Prohibited uses. You may not use this website to practice law without a license; to collect, publish, or misuse another person's personal, financial, or health information; to harass, threaten, insult, or stalk anyone, or to behave in an uncivil or abusive way in sessions, workshops, or Moot Court; to share sealed or confidential court records; or to commit fraud or any other unlawful act.
Enforcement. Violators will be banned from the website. Violations may be reported to law enforcement, courts, attorney disciplinary authorities, and other appropriate agencies, and violators may face criminal prosecution and civil liability. We will cooperate with lawful investigations.
11. Limits of responsibility
The site, templates, and tools are provided as they are, without promises about accuracy, completeness, or results. Laws and court rules change, and every case is different. Kasecraftportal.com is not responsible for the outcome of any case or for decisions you make using the site.
This page explains how the site works and the rules for using it. It is not legal advice to you. We may update it; the date at the top shows the latest version.
